
According to ABC news, Washington Metro officials have been forced to pull a two minute video ad appearing on its website featuring a Pope Benedict bobblehead figurine.
The advertisement was meant to encourage the historic Papal Mass visitors to use mass transit, and to encourage the use of a special “mass pass” (no, I didn’t make that up just now) that was created for the occasion.
Susan Gibbs, a spokeswoman for the Archdiocese of Washington explained the request for the removal of the ad: “Our concern is that this was a bad bobblehead,” & “You had unauthorized merchandise, and you had a misdressed pope.”
